few questions before i button her up

ill start off by saying it pretty much a stock rebuild on a 351m exept a towing cam and a 4barrel intake. also this is by far the funnest project i have tackled on any of the 4 truck i own.
now tthe questions

1. how do i tourque the rocker arms down? do i go through the fireing order?

2. is the only gasket for the intake the valley pan deal?

2.5 when i set the intake on the motor there is 2 holes in the heads in the middle that you can see, sticking up past the intake

3. where do you find the little brass thing that is in the block that you put the heater hose on.

and thanks in advance for any help.

1. Pedastal (non-adjustable) rockers simply torque to 25 ft-lbs. I found no need to turn the engine. I torqued all to spec, turned the engine, rechecked torque and all were right on.
2.yes. It is advisable to leave out the front and rear rubber gaskets and substitute a good quality RTV sealant, as the rubbers will leak in time.
3 I had the machine shop replace the nipple on my block, but I have seen other posts that have a part number for an appropriate store.

if you're talking about the removable nipple in the water pump you can get that at your local parts house or FORD dealer.

For question 2.5 the answer is don't worry about them. They don't do anything and all 335 series heads have them. They may have served some purpose during the final machining process on the heads but they serve no purpose now.

2.5, the holes are for cooling the exhaust cross-overs. without them the heads would probably crack there.
