"The 6.0L bottom end pretty tough!!"

The bottom end in the 6.0 was built for brutal power. Upgraded seriously from the 7.3L they gave the 6.0 a heavier crank and a lot stronger rod. I have heard the 6.0L bottom end is good for close to 700HP. The rod journal on the 6.0 is slightly larger than the 5.9 cummins to my knowledge. These pic will explain the rest.

This pic is the 6.5 Chevy rod 7.3 psd & 5.9 cummins rods. See the 7.3 rod isn't that strong looking.

Now for the 6.0L rod in the middle of the pic below. Now that’s a rod!!!

LOL, the duramax rod looks like a 5.7 out of a 350 chevy LMAO. Also, ask PSD60LFX4 just how strong his bottom end is!

I looked at these in person. The piston is not week. It is a smaller bore piston cus the 6.0 has the same stroke as the 7.3L they just made the bore smaller. This helped keep the TQ up.

"ask PSD60LFX4"

Actually, Matt and I have had this discussion, and he states that the 6.0 is extremely tough. The issues we have is what has been bolted onto the block, not what's inside the block. I don't think I have seen a single post on here regarding the block, pistons and rods. Turbos, EGR valves, etc...dime a dozen.

No, the short block for all MY 6.0's is identical, not including the camshaft profile.

I wonder how much HP this engine could put out? I've driven an f450 with the 6.0 and she revs all day long 2300-3000 rpm down the alberta highway without a glitch.

There is a guy by the name of Gene he has an 04 2wd he is up above 600HP it runs a 1/4 mi in 11.5 sec at 119mph stock motor with injector work done to it. He even has the stock turbo on it yet. He calls it the stroked lightning.
