1999 Windstar Van Interior Lights Blown Fuse

I have a 1999 Windstar van that the interior lights fuse will blow every time I install a new fuse. I have removed all the interior lights from the van, installed a new fuse and it blows. Has anyone had this problem? (I wish they'd stay on like everybody elses seems to do!)

There is a 10 amp fuse that feeds:

Left and right vanity mirrors
Left and right stepwell lamps
Left and right puddle lamps(I looked these up, they are in the doors)
Left and right map lights(if you have this option)
Interior lamp(must be next to the map lights)
overhead console
cargo lamp
Left and right third row reading lamps
Left and right second row reading lamps

The wire that feeds all of these is a violet/white. What you can do is start unplugging parts of the harness where you see this wire, and try to eliminate whole sections to narrow down the problem. But I think the first place I would look is the stepwell lamps if these are in a running board or if the wiring is exposed underneath the van.
