Controller Area Network Explained

While searching for a solution to some networking problems encountered with these stupid Motorola/Freescale processors used in the 6.0 Powerstroke (and pretty much any Ford vehicle) I ran across a couple of interesting and informative documents on the basics of Controller Area Network functions; which is the primary communications protocol utilized in the 6.0/Torqshift powertrain.

Just thought I would share.

Yeah Matt, great post.

Would be really great if I knew what the ding, dang, heck...it was talking about in the first place .

So much for shade tree mechanics.

GarageDoc is starting off with a positive reputation.
What a coincident, a long haul Digital Microwave system that I put in in '01 had numerous problems once we commissioned it. It also had an imbedded CAN system. The problem was with the Mot... chip. We had to have a couple of flashes to correct.

Thought you all would find that interesting.
