After they're outa the truck, use big c clampst to hold the pack together, then gently release the pressure with the clapms, if hte springs don't have a clamp that holds thim in plcae, you need to clam them before you take them out, use c clamp when losening flip the bototm spring, take the 2nd out, & they will stick down, you can clamp them and squeeze them up and u bolt it back if it sticks down too much, you can do that after you get it back together and put the center bolt back in

Anyting else to add to his?

Thanks

Might look into a dropped axel if you are running stick.

I am guessing he meant stock (as in front suspension). Hence, the dropped axle. I think they run around $250-300 for them, but I am not real sure. If I get up and go get catalogs right now, I will probably not make it back to the computer room.

I am sure you can remove some leaves, but I do not know the procedure for your year.
I am extremely sleepy , so I am not finding much.

I am seriously considering the aerostar IFS for mine, but thats a lot of fabrication without the right tools.

Taking out leafs would work, but like on mine I am running a 351 W and the oil pan right now is only about 1 inch above the axel, so I cant take out any leafs because of clearence-My option is a drop axel wich will lower about 3 inches without having to do a whole clip, And I like the stock ride, I think she rides like a caddy-So really it depends on a number of factors. Mid Fifty has drop axels listed for $369.00 I am not sure if that is for a 57 or not I know 53 thru 56 they will work.

You could also install mono leaf springs--but measure carefully; it might lower it more than you really want...
