I'm fairly new to Michigan. I'm a southerner, moved up here for a new job. I'm looking for some place fairly close to Detroit where someone can go mudding, off roading, and go out with a atv and play on weekends. The closest I've found is north of flint, which is a bit of a drive for someone living down river. Thanks.
Its the same here on the westside...........all the good mudding spots are up north for trucks. For atv's its a different story. Call the main DNR office in Lansing and ask for orv maps. They sent me every map they had and there are atv places that aren't too terribly far for a weekend jaunt......
Can't help you with the mudding thing, but I can welcome you to the site. Its a great site so I hope you will take some time to look around and see what we have to offer.
BTW: don't forget to join the Chapter, we would love to hear from you.
I know a place out in my old hometown, lil place called new boston. Not huge but everything back there was tore up by an old suburban with a 12 inch lift. if you head up king road towards the next town (flat rock) youll see a set of tracks in between inkster and telegraph. its just before the tracks on your left hand side goin east on king. just a turn in but it widens out. when you first go in, stay at at least 10-15. that big truck tore in some massive ruts. I almost buried my old one not goin fast enough to get through.
Not sure if its legal or not, i did it there every weekend for bout 2 months if not more a couple times a week. no body bothered me, hell, people from the sub near it came and watched on occasion. if you need anymore info let me know, glad to help if i did.
I was looking at the users names trying to figure out who they were, I wouldn't have caught the 6 year old thread using the blackberry. That's funny stuff.
