How do I replace a 12 volt accessory socket

The 12 volt accessory socket on my 99 f150 went bad and I need to replace it. How do I do it? I'm not the most mechanical guy in the world, but this doesn't look that difficult. Do I need to remove the dash or just pull out the radio to get at it? And is there a specific plug? Thanks

Thanks for the warm reception. I agree, I am amazed at the knowledge base on this board. Hopefully someone will know the answer.
