TIRES

Hey Guys,

I have a stock 1978 F-250 (no lift) 2wd and had some questions about tire size. My tires were dry rotted and I needed to replace them after this summer. I had the stock wheels that were in pretty rough shape so I decided to go ahead and purchase a new set of American Racing Outlaw II in 16x8. I just got them in the other day and now the fun of finding the right set of tires for them begins.

Prior to the change I had 33x12.5.16.5's in the back and much smaller tires in the front. I plan on purchasing four of the same sized tires, but am kind of stumped on what size I should go with. I like a big tire for aesthetic purposes, but that is about it (don't need them for functionality reasons). I put a very small amount of mileage on my truck every year (less than 1K) and it really just gets trips on the back roads and in and out of town to pick up lumber, a deer etc ( no real off-roading, just back dirt/gravel roads and some blacktop highways).

What is the max tire size I can run on these wheels without rubbing? I was originally thinking to just get some BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A 265-75-16's, but would really like to know what my options are and maybe what anybody else is running on a similar wheel. Not looking to spend a ton of $$$ on tires, but want something that looks nice on my truck. Thanks for the help everybody!
