6 volt to 12 volt conversion

Fella's I've a 239cid, in a '54, I'd appreciate any insight on conversion's or links for "dummies," like myself...thanks

This is a start, not a whole lot of detail but it'll get you going: http://www.patricksantiquecars.com/articles.htm

If you google "6 volt to 12 volt conversion" you will find several different articles on it. Personal opinion this conversion is one of the best things you can do for your vehicle.

Make sure your wiring harness is good, if not, this conversion is the time to do it. I pinned my harness to a sheet of plywood on sawhorses, and went through it thoroughly, soldering ends on, fixing anything that looked like it needed it, cutting out the voltage regulator and generator wires and adding in wires for electric fan and altenator, etc, and re-wrapped it all with new tape. Worked out very nicely.
