4600 lbs. of scrap steel in a early '77 highboy, 400 auto. She was squatin' big time. When the guy operating the crane set the magnet on to pick up the steel, I just knew something was gonna break. It help up fine. It was so light in the front I had trouble making a couple of turns.

If brand x counts than I grossed 41,280 lbs in a 74 1 ton Chevy 454 with a 38 foot gooseneck hauling scrap. Still have the weight slip somewhere. Almost burned up the clutch on a hill at a red light. Will never do that again.

74 F250, 300/4spd, 4.10s with 36s, extra leaves in the back.

I hauled about 3000# sand for my back yard. The springs were frowning but it did just fine. Not a record for this thread, but quite a bit for me since it normally just sits in the driveway.

I hauled a 32 ft fifth wheel all over the eastern states and Canada with a 70 F150 460. Trailer fully loaded was between 7000 an 8000lbs. Hauled it with ease.

< < I hauled a 3 ton die block in my bed to Freitliner, while towing another 3.5 tons of various steel. For a grand total of 13,000 pounds towed plus a roughly 6,500 pound truck. > >

Did the trailer have, um . . . brakes?

of course it did...as I said it was dumb, stupid and highly illegal. But it was a rush job they needed and the flatbed we normally use was out on another job, heck you do crazy things when 10 grand is on the other side of the 30 mile trip. I'll never do that much again. The 3 tons in the bed had the truck squattin, I didn't go over 55, and the trailer still isn't the same. I can't believe I didn't break something considering the truck weight, my weight, bed weight and trailer weight there was roughly 20,000 pounds to be moved.

I work in the trailer industry so I won't haul without brakes. Got the trusty Prodigy brake control in my truck.

Very true...and as proof of that I just turned 22. My goal is just to make it to my next birthday...I'm one of those whose favorite phrase is "Hey y'all watch this"...haha.
