My truck runs great!

Works like a champ. I was reading a post in the Ford vs. the competition forum, and someone pointed out that we only post the problems with our trucks, and it makes you wonder, how many of us are problem free? My 2001 5.4 auto 4x4 works great! Has since day 1. I got it with 45k on it, and I'm about to turn 75k without a single slip up. I take good care of it, and it has served me well. I'd like to hear from all the satisfied Ford owners on this site. Post your story!

I've been satisfied with my 01 OFFROAD 4x4 5.4L. The 4x4 works flawless and I have had only minor issues that were fixed under warranty (PCV hose assembly, MAF died, a/c line set( truck was built with it to far forward and it rubbed a hole in it while it was at the dealer for the MAF), a/c compressor got a little noisy(I'm picky and it was replaced). Other than that, I am quite satisfied with it. No rattles or wind noise inside. Other than the black paint seems to attract any kind of dust or dirt, I love it(especially when clean!!)

The only thing that would make me happier, besides an additional 200hp and 150lb/ft of torque, would be to ditch the 3.55 gears and install 4.10's front and rear. The factory 17" wheel/tire package kills the 3.55 gears a bit for towing.

Yes, another satisfied customer here with 58,000 miles on the clock

I have a 99 F-150 5.4L 4x4 Scab with 147K plus on the clock. I bought it used with 49K and it runs just as strong today as it did when I got it. This truck has been a true work horse. Other than the usual fixes, tires, brakes, fluids, ball joints, this truck has been trouble free.

I have an '02 F-150 Lariat FX4 S-Cab 5.4L with 48K+ that runs great with no problems. Have replaced the usual items (air filter, oil, coolant, tires, etc) but nothing else. Now I have recently started to hear a chirp from the belt on extremely cold mornings, but that can be easily cured with a new belt.

I do agree with LxMan1 that any model with 17" rims could have used bigger gears than the 3.55, at least 3.73.

No complaints about the F-150, now the '99 Explorer I had prior is a different story!

I love my '03 F-150 FX4 s-cab 5.4 with 35K miles! I have had it a year now and have put 12,000 miles on it. I have towed my Mustang all over the place and even tow my parent's 23' boat on occasion. I only had one minor warranty claim and other than that no problems! Agreed on the gears, but then again, I am used to the 4.30s I have in the Mustang.

My 1988 Bronco II is a truly exceptional vehicle. At 188 K miles it has hauled me around, patients and medical staff in a snow emergencys, gone places that a H2 can't even imagine, and just this week had its original clutch replaced. It is now a pure off road vehicle. My 2003 F150 is nice too, but it is only a pup at 20K miles, no problems what so ever.

I have the 17" wheels, with the 3.55 rear end. I hope to change to 3.73's or 4.1's in the near future.
