Lightning vs. SRT-10

I just want everyone to take a look at this video- http://media.putfile.com/srt---10-truck-vs-ford-lightning i don't know if the lightning had anything done to it i.e. chip, pullies, exhaust.. so what went wrong? was the driver of the srt a 2 year old or is this the truth? and also i thought the srt was supossed to beat the L in everything except breaking-which both basically tied in. maybe it's just Ram Himi!? i don't know i just found this video very amusing- seeing the BIG HIPED UP Viper Truck loose to the 380 L . so enjoy and please leave feed back

My 96 5L never lost a race and all I had done to it was dual straight pipes with headers. Not even a K&N filter!! the fords are just fast.

Yes, the srt's are have traction issues out of the hole due to it being a manual and those big wheels and tires don't help any.

One thing to note fellas...there's always someone faster than you...always.

Unless of course you happen to be piloting a Bugatti Veyron down the highways and byways. And while I am sure there is something faster than that land rocket, it is a small list to be sure.

Stock, you are probably right, but do you know how many modified cars there are on the road that would hand that car it's butt and not even have to think twice about it. As stated earlier, there's always someone faster.

I am sure it won't be too long before we are reading about a Veyron that has been juiced to the max by a tuner and they will play it off against an F16. There is always a need for more horsepower and money, don't you just love it?

It's nice, but for 1.7 million, I could think of few others I could buy for less and then mod them to make more power and still be streetable. From a blue collar perspective, that thing is a waste of money...period!

well it does seem to look that way (not to say that i ever doubted ford) but i guess im still a little shocked because from everything that i've read, to everything i've heard, the ram-srt ("60 mph in 4.9 seconds" and "The quarter mile is gobbled up in 13.3 seconds with a trap speed of 106.9 mph" as quoted by Truck Trend) was supposed to not only beat the Lightning (2004 - 5.1-second 0-to-60 run and a quarter-mile shot of 13.6 seconds at 102.0 mph. again quoted by Truck Trend) by a little, but by good bit in everything (except for breaking, as i mentioned earlier). and to think that i was going to buy a SRT-10 over an L ..

But again Truck Trend tested these vehicles STOCK with pro drivers so who knows..

I wish ford would go back to making these awesome vehicles. The new mustang and gt-500 are a start and hopefully the adrenaline will compete with the chevy SS. The lightning's seem to never depreciate which you would think ford would realize and see the potential in this area!
