What are you working on? Mild porting and polishing, maybe mild camshafts from CompCams.

Talking this is the reason my heads are off

274/278 cams i installed them and rolled my driver side cam to get it timed about 1/4 without the timing chain on it and bent a valve on #6 cylinder lol while my heads are off and getting redone i might as well go all out before i go back up with it.. ever heard of a 3angle cut on the valve seats?

the cut on the valve seat does nothing for the horse power. porting, or grinding out the passage for exhauste gas to get out of the heat into the manifold quicker is what was suggested and might get a little more power. remember to get more "power" the motor is probably wrapped up to 5000 RMP. you dont get much at 2000 RPM.
