you are just probably hitting the stops. Test install one and try it out.

You're most welcome. I came up with the $.01 repair then changed to the solder repair.

Hi, My son has just bought a one owner 1999 F - 150 XLT with supercab. We love it. I thought I would fix the power door lock actuators and have used the mod found on this site. My problem is the window track now. I removed the lower bolt that holds the window track in place and when I buttoned everything up the window would get stuck as it goes down. Looking up towards the top of this track, bar I see it goes into a square metal holder housing. On the bar or track is a small bent curved metal clip. Does this clip go behind the holder housing on set inside it? Any help would be helpful. Thank you. Bob1951

Did mine yesterday. I used sheet metal screws to hold motor halves together. The first one took 1 1/2 hours. The second took 30 minutes. Great info! I'm glad to get mine working again.

Just finished my son's crew cab, plus last year I did my supercab, that brings the savings up to a few hundred bucks, and I can kick them out pretty quick now.

You didn't read this whole thread before you attempted this repair, did you?

The short-cut screwed you. Yes, you have to take it all apart again. You put the motor together wrong.

Of course, you COULD take another short-cut and reverse the two wires on the actuator.

Two wrongs make it act right. But it's still wrong.

See post 226 in this thread.

Hey Pop, do you think you could help someone without being so rude. That thread is so long it is hard to read. The job is hard to do, it took me 1 1/2 hrs to get my first one out, most of that time was spent reading and trying to figgure out how to do it. If you are going to spend time replying, how about really replying instead of just saying "see post 226" which is what you just said. It would have been more helpful to actually refer him to the post that describes reassembly of the motor.

This forum is supposed to be to help someone, not to tell them how stupid they are becaus they did not read over 300 posts.

THANKS, worked like a charm. The only thing I did different was used a piece of sheet steel cut to the right size instead of tinfoil.

The Lord helps them that helps themselves.

I guess the intent was to remind you to READ. After all, this is a text-based forum, and it is all there.

We spoon-feed it to you guys. What more do you want?

You demand the Cliff's Notes! Sheeesh! The easy way out.

Sorry to but in here, I don't think you are stupid but you didn't have to read 300 posts. The super-long paragraph had all the info in it, and as far as putting the back of the motor on wrong, The first rule of taking stuff apart is to mark everything so it is put back together properly.

IMO the hardest part of the job is the r&r of the lock mech.

I wonder, if this thread needs to be split up?

Anyone want to go through, tell me what posts are REALLY important and I'll pull everything else out of it?

Sheesh, 25 pages of posts to go through

Hey guys, I took it apart again put the motor in RIGHT this time. And i just finished the second door. As far as Pop being rude, I am a grown up I can take it . i figured if i looked hard enough i could find the answer but I think i got it faster by posting the question then i would have going through 24 pages of posts.and seeing as i am trying to do these locks through my lunches and after work before it gets dark rude or not it actually helped I appreciate all the help. This is an awesome fix and it will save me alot of leaning over and unlocking the door for people.
