I saw a 300 CID six with a turbo on it at a mini tractor pull several years ago. He was pulling against small block Chevy engines. I rember it being extremely quiet, and kicking the small block's tail! I know it's possible.

Why not just use a vortech supercharger? It's a bolt on belt driven turbo. They work very well.

WHY would you want to modify the engine much? It is a great engine as is.

Great as it is there is always a want for more. The few 300s I've driven were great little torque motors, just not so great on the top end. We don't all use them for stump pulling all the time.

thanks but the vortec super chargers are a littlte too much $ for me.

Did any of you guys ever hear of using electric bilge blowers off of a boat motor as a turbo? does it work? how well?

Those bilge pumps don't flow enough air to feed the engine, much less pressurize the air. A turbo would be great on a 300, and sized properly, it would enhance the low to mid range torque. A Vortech supercharger isn't what the 300 needs.
