After Market Keyless/Alarm

Had a Audiovox Keyless / Alarm installed about a year ago at a local shop and now the alarm works but the keyless does not. Anybody know about this type of issue and what it could be??? Or should I just pony up and have a new one installed.

Thanks

the shop that installed it should fix it.
its either their connection or a bad part.

did your truck have factory keyless already?

If so they would have connected the green unlock wire to the pink with green stripe at your keyless module located on your firewall. Hit your lock switches and you should hear is clicking on the firewall.

Also some systems have fuses for the lock system on them and maybe that fuse is blown.

Sorry forgot to mention that they are now out of buisness. I went back there first.

No it did not have a factory keyless, I will look at the fuses.

Thanks

do the power locks work?
if yes, the relays they added are connected fine and the lock wire to the lock relay (or unlock whichever isn't working) is disconnected or the relay is bad.
A new relay is $5 at any part store.
They are just a plain Bosch relay.

Would this relay be traced from the box that came with the Alarm/Keyless? Or some where else?

Thanks

Some alarms have built-in relays, some don't
You'll just have to inspect it.
If the alaem has a green and a blue wire (Lock and Unlock) they probably go to a pair of relays

audiovox would warranty the alarm if you have proof of purchase.

Sorry it tool so long to respond I have been crazy busy at work. When I set the alarm I hear a clicking (relays). So I guess I'll have too look for a disconected wire or something.
