Anyone have a sandblaster or know any local companies that do?
HazaA! My front end is torn down, and I was wondering if anyone here has a sandblaster or if there is one locally that you know of that I can drop this stuff off at to get it cleaned up Both hubs, caliper brackets and knuckles. . .I'd never ask for a freebie, I'm more than willing to pony up the $$ to get it done. Any help is seriously appreciated, I wanna get my truck back on all 4's again
Also, I want to do a crossover steering setup on this truck. Anyone recomend any machine shops that can machine a knuckle?

if you have an air compresor, get a box blaster from tractor supply. That way you reuse sand repeditly.
as for cross over, i`m lookin for that to came across this site http://www.bulletproofsteering.com/f...ngoptions.html
What I do up in NY is drop stuff off at a monument place, usually they have a good size outfit for doing the grave markers. Last time I had 4 spoke rims and 2 exhaust manifolds done for $20.

HazaA! That would be most excellent! When would be convenient for you to have me over? And what would I owe you for this much appreciated service
And I appreciate the offer for machining, but I'm thinking I will send it out to the supplier of the steering arm so they can machine it for me. The knuckle needs a mirror pattern of the drivers side bolt pattern machined in to it and then machine matched to the arm so its f-l-a-t-

Any evening is good. I'm out in the garage every weekday doing something on my truck. Usually I'm in the garage by 4:30PM until 10 - 11PM. Don't sweat what you owe me, I'm glad to help. I know what a pain it is to need something done, and not have access to the equipment. Give me a call (my cell is listed in my FTE profile), and we'll set up a time to get together.
Bob
P.S. I hope you don't mind working in a heated garage.

Sweet!
Well, I guess I will have to learn to put up with it
Well, tommorrow night I will finnish knocking out studs and pop the ball joints and I will give you a call Friday night then? I don't get home from work till after 5pm. Also, just how clean do the parts need to be before blasting?

I try to get most of the grease off before blasting, but with that said, I have blasted some pretty nasty parts before! The drawback of blasting greasy parts is that then the grease is "recycled", and sprayed back on to your freshly blasted part (which is really bad if you're prepping a part prior to powdercoating.)
Bob, you are the man! The 2 peices I got done look great and painted up nice! I just got back in from outside painting them and they almost look new
If you read this before I can wrench the phone away from the siblings and call you, today is momz B-day and totally slipped my mind last night. I won't be able to come over again till tuesday after work (class monday night). I'll give you a call before then though to make sure everythings good
BTW, those pictures of your truck don't do it justice

If you want a knuckle machined, there is a guy in Chesapeake that does this on a regular basis for crossover steering setups. His name is Tim, and his website is shakerbuilt dot com. Heck of a nice guy, and does some awesome custom work. I was referred to him by Pro-Trucks and the work he did for me was great.
Tim at shakerbuilt can help you. He machines knuckles for crossover steering all the time. He is in Chesapeake and does great work.
Call Pro Trucks and they can give you his number, or his website
which is shakerbuilt with the period and then the c_o_m following it.
I guess i need to type it this way to show up....
