new to site. tranny hunting for gears

hey all, I recently bought a 01 reg cab with 4.6l and 3.08 gears... went straight from the dealership to the tire shop, upgraded from 245/75/16 to 265/75/16 bfg all terrians for a little meener look! the tranny seems to jump out of overdrive at the slightest hill.... Is this common for this engine/gearing combo? (the local dealership says it is) Is this something a programmer will help me fix? or do i just bite the bill and upgrade gears? any suggestions would be appreciated

dang! why would they put those kidna gears in a truck. the programmer may help a little bit or not show the problem as big but the real way to solve the prob will be gears, and hey if your not LS now it would be a good time to do it with a gear swap

Yes, you now have the same as about a 2.73 gear wth the taller tires. 3.73 gears are the way to go in my opinion.
