why is there 2 hot lines back at the connector with lamps on? think it was dark blue. that must have been for the controller for the brakes.
Can you elaborate on the 2 hot lines a little? blue is traditionally used for the brake controller. If you had running light on, you'd have one for the running lights, and if the key was on, should have one for the trailer charge as well.

yes i think it was the brake circuit. It was the dark blue wire. mAYBE THE CHG CIRCUIT. I forgot the key was on when i was testing it. Actually got rid of the second added bed plug(added with scotch locks), and wired blue to blue and running lights wire...it was orange or brown. It was getting dark. everything seems good. prodigy acts ok. It had a brake controller feed or something coming from cab to rear(on a toggle) then spliced back to bed plug. It was a repo so he probably cut and yanked!!!!!!!!!!!!!maybe i will even have a charge circuit for my trailer battery. I thought that wire would be thicker if it was the charge circuit.

I HATE ELECTRICAL COBBERS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, bad COBBERS, bad. I also don't care for the scotch locks either, they are quick and easy, but don't last very long and seem to cause more headache in the long run. I went as far as putting a box under the bed of the truck by the spare, put in a 12 pole buss, and conneceted everything via spades. This way if I add or take stuff off, simple screw, remove/add, put the cover back on and I am done. I keep one of those moisture bags in the box that come in most electronic packaging, so far everything is still clean and no corrosion.

the 6637 filter is pretty popular over in the diesel forum, search under the 99-03 7.3L, you'll find lots of info. Also, if you can post a pic of the connector, that would help. Does it look like the on in this thread?

It is the one for the APCM that ford sells for idle control during use of PTO.
