13-14 mpg up to 17.5 mpg not bad
All these posts on MPG so I decided to experiment!
I was getting 12-13-14 MPG depending on driving. All the posts about MPG and someone always says how you drive is the main factor so I decided to put that theory to test.
I run b20 from same gas station, same pump. I always fill up until I see the fuel in down tube. No additives since I switched to bio. Truck is same as last many tank fulls. The only thing I changed was my driving habits.
I gained an easy 3 to 4 MPH just by changing driving habits. I drove 553 miles and added 31 gallons thats 17.8 mpg.
Heres what I did:
Slowest guy taking off from red light! Grand pa style really slow
City driving I keeped speed at 35mph.
High way rpms 19500 = 66mph I have smaller then stock tires.
Coming up to red light I glide in to the point that I hardly need brakes!
553 mile break down
200 miles was city driving
353 miles highway
;;;;;;
100 high way miles was not milage concious. Wife was screaming we are late so I had to drive like a bat out of hell.
100 high way was also over the mountains milage in mind.
I am going to slow my city driving down to 30mph and higway down to 1800rpms and see what happens.
Over all I really dont give a **** about mpg but I figured an experiment would entertain myself. and it is!!

Nice data Steve! Good to see it works.
You might not care but if you are driving that kinda miles per week, that is a savings of 438 gallons of diesel per year. At $2.50/gal thats $1095 per year. If you relay don'T need an extra $1100 per year let me introduce you the charitable organization called "Ed has to get his Daughters through College" - LOL
