Do all 7.3 tdsl direct injection have these and how often do they need replaced? Since I'm fairly new to tdsl just thought I'd ask. I have a 94 c/c dually with only 146k on it.
Barebackjake had already answered my question. I have a manual transmission which is Awesome!! Means I don't have an idi just wasn't sure if di had one of those thats all. I know this site is an excellent source of info. Greatly appreciate having this site to go to for any ?'s that may arise.
Easy way to tell is look at the VIN# 8th digit. if it a "F" is a powerstroke, "K" is the turbo IDI and "M" is a n/a idi diesel. The 94 powerstrokes won't have a "Powerstroke " badge. It'll just say "turbo diesel"
Also Like Jake stated, look to see if ya got fuel lines.
From what I understand all powerstrokes in 94 were badged "turbo diesel" If its got a powerstroke badge I would guess someone put it on their aftermarket.
i drove that truck home from the stealership (with no driver lic) dad was following me in the other truck....i was 14... the sticker was on there that day
Thanks guys for your help It is a Powerstroke with that #8 letter being an F and it says Direct Injection Turbo Diesel on the fuel filter cover I'm just new to diesels and I like the truck, just wanna help her last a good while thats all. That n being broke down somewhere just sucks. Been there done that with a F-150 inline six.
