The SJ fits the F1 like it was made for it. The only significant fab work is boxing the frame (at least to the tranny crossmember) and the upper shock mounts, and that's straight forward. I'd suggest you get the power steering version of the Toyota box if you go that way. The sector shaft splines are different between the two boxes, and there are conversion pitman arms ready made for the PS box, plus the PS box has a quicker ratio. I really prefer the Toy box mount Mid Fifty sells for the 53-56 F100. It will work on the F1, just need to redrill the frame to the later mount pattern. There is a tech article on the Toy box conversion in the works.
