Question 1975 f100 with 390/need vacuum diagram

I just bought this truck about a month ago. Still runs decent but the guy I bought it from had removed just about all the vacuum lines except for the distributor advance. Apparently these diagrams are kept wherever the Noah's Arc is because I cant find them anywhere on the net or in these forums. This is an Alabama truck. Bought new in '75 in Alabama. thx in advance

Over the years I've taken off most of the vacuum operated items. All that I have left that's connected to a vacuum source is the power brake booster which is attached to the back of my carb. (Edelbrock) The vacuum line for the automatic transmission shift modulator and the line for the diaphragms on the inside for ac/heat system are connected to the intake manifold port. This port is located on rear of the intake close to the #4 cylinder runner. (This is for a stock Ford manifold) These lines are routed from this port to the rear firewall. Hope this helps you. Good Luck.

Thanks Tim,

On my manifold the multi port over #4 cylinder is just like you said(one to brake assist, one to carb I think and one or two lines to tranny). There is also two more multi ports on the front right of manifold. None of which are hooked to anything. Any clues on those. I know most of it must have to do with emissions as there are several ports on the carb and air cleaner housing. Why doesnt stinkin auto zone ever have the diagram I need?! LOL

Peanut,
I haven't used a stock intake for awhile, but as I recall, the ports off of the front part of the intake were used for the egr/emissions equipment. Even with the stock 2 barrel intake, I had all that stuff plugged and removed and the truck ran fine. I am currently using a Edelbrock intake, it doesn't even have the port on the front.

Ok and thx again. I was thinking about just plugging them.
Are you using the Edlebrock Performance intake and carb? And if so did you notice a big difference over stock? Also what CFM carb, 600? Thats what I was considering if and when I rebuild this motor.

I am using the edelbrock performer 390. It's supposed to be the stock replacement intake. Edelbrock makes a second intake the performer rpm. It's for a more non stock engine. However, I've heard of people using the rpm version on stock fe's with good results. I am using the Edelbrock 600 cfm, model 1405 carb. I was using the carb. with the cast iron Ford intake and switched to the Eldelbrock performer 390. I noticed more torque on the low end, and thru the mid rpm's. I like the weight difference, it's so much lighter than the cast iron intake. I've had intake gasket sealing issues since I've had the intake on the engine. This will be the fourth set of intake gasket I've installed since 8/03. (Read all about it in the thread "edelbrock intake help") I believe I've got a head/intake alignment problem. I'm taking the heads and intake to the machine shop next week to be checked. I'm not trying to scare you off from Edelbrock or installing this setup on your engine, I believe they make good products and this is a good setup for a stock FE engine. If you decide to use this setup, do some research, talk to these guys here at this forum, they have a lot of experience, and give good advice. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Would it make any difference in where the vacuum lines are located? My PCV is connected to the back of my carb(also Edelbrock), Brake booster is connected to the intake by the #4, and transmission vacuum line is on the front of my carb. My truck runs fine, i'm just wondering if this makes a difference...thanks

smokinjoe-as long as the trans vacuum line is getting manifold vacuum, your lines are fine.
