C6 to 3 speed conversion.......power booster rod won't hook up.........
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Dec-01 AT 11:48 PM (EST)]Hi all, I'm in the process of converting from a C6 to a 3 speed manual. I have the brake/clutch pedal bracket bolted up and now the rod from the power booster is too short and won't bolt up to the brake pedal. Is there a difference between the two? is the rod longer on a manual to compensate for the pedal bracket?
EDIT: Is there a difference in length between the fire wall to power booster brackets on manuals and autos?
Someone please help me!.......
Thanks,
Taz

C6 to 3 speed conversion.......power booster rod won't hook up.........
[font color=red size=2]My '73 F100 with power brakes and a 4spd has a low brake pedal. The brake is down close to the gas pedal, and the clutch is about 4-6" higher than the brake, they are not even. As far as I know, this is the way it's supposed to be. Is that maybe why you think it's too short?
Just a thought.

C6 to 3 speed conversion.......power booster rod won't hook up.........
Well, I found out today that there were 4 different boosters made back in '79 for the trucks.....great.........My friend has 2 trucks with the ones I need but won't part them out. One of the local junkyards is willing to help me find the one I need, they went through the same ordeal over the summer with one of their work trucks. The guy I talked to said they ended up ordering a new one.
These trucks are expensive to hotrod......
