how to remove veneer instrument panels?

I have a 97 econoline with Chariot conversion vans wood veneer panels over the gauges and radio. This was removed once by a Ford dealer for heater control repairs, and never reinstalled properly. How do you remove the wood veneer, and what is used to get the adhesive off the plastic factory panel, if it can be done. Thanks!

For anyone interested, this is how I accomplished the job. I first tried using a hair dryer, with the bezels still on the dash. In the end, I found it much easier to remove the two bezzels as one piece...remove the two screws above the speedometer, remove the headlamp ring, and switch pull, then pop the two bezels off. Nothing else needs to be removed to do this. Then, using the hair dryer, heat up the veneer, I highly suggest using gloves to do this. You will be left with a very well adhered backing in most places. Again, use the heat gun and a firm plastic pot scrapper, used in a slicing motion. That will remove 95% of all the glue. Then, wipe off the adhesive film left, using alcohol, and then remove that film with Goo remover. End product looks damn good!
