ford390gashog, the BP plant in Houston is now owned by INEOS.

If you want to save some bucks on Royal Purple, try buying it in the 5 gallon size. It is a little more work but is not that bad. They use a good quality container that will accept pipe threads.

Exactly. That gives you a full 15,000 miles of service-1 complete oil change with four filter changes. Can't beat it.

As I was checking on pricing I noticed that the 5 gallon jug would be pretty much the most economical. Awful lot of oil for the size of the engine. I spin the 454 in my Z to 7000 and it only has a 7 quart pan.

Ah, I haven't heard that one before. Although, the smallblock Z-cars are pretty wicked (never seen a big block in one though). Now, back to the topic.

Hey now, the X is my first FoMoCo product. Everything else I own is from the General. (Yes, Z28 is the RPO code for a General Motors product) NOW back to the topic.

Question RP in 5W40?

I've been told repeatedly to run 5W40 in my 99 PSD for better cold starts and also summer driving. The RP cleaning ability sounds like a smart choice for my 120k truck. Does anyone know if RP is available in a diesel rated 5W40?

Thanks!
