My 99 f-150 with the 4.6 stalled today while making a u turn at a intersection, i was like half way through the turn and it just cut out!, the wheel was turned all the way, ive heard of vehicles doing this sometimes when the wheel is turned all the way but why? the truck has like 75k on it and have never had a problem with it stalling before.

 

The black box sensed you were making an illegal u-turn and tried to stop you

How much gas was in it? Was your foot on the gas pedal or off?

 

IAC (Idle Air Control) probaly needs cleaning. When you "turned it all the way" you put a load on the power steering pump which bogged down the motor and the IAC didn't keep up with the load. A good tune up would probaly help also.
