Not sure if hesitation or normal

Hey I have a 97' Ford Ranger supercab 4.0L 5-speed. I've noticed that around the very low RPM range (below 2,000RPM's) there seems to be some hesitation. Maybe theres just no torque that low or because of the wider gearing it doesn't take off as quick, but it doesn't really seem bad enough to be called hesitation yet it doesn't seem perfectly normal for an engine that big. As soon as it gets up around 1,800-2,000 and up it seems perfectly fine.
I don't really have another truck to compare it with so I don't know. I just got it a month ago and when I got it the dealer changed the oil, plugs, wires, cleaned out the intake, and I run mid grade gas in it. I average about 16mpg in the cold city. Should I be worried or is this normal?

Are you trying to describe a flat spot that occurs as you slowly accelerate?

I'd first look for a vacuum leak.
