What's the easiest way to change a block heater in a 5.4?

 

If you are talking about the usual Ford accessory type, it is in a "freeze plug", normally on the driver side, low in the block. A toggle bolt holds it in. If you are planning to install a new one, you have to knock out the factory sheet metal plug.
