Amarillo Package??

For those with the Amarillo package, have you found your self getting tired or bored with the color? My dealer has 2 loaded F250 Amarillo trucks left.

Thanks,

Nebraska

I just bought an '05 F350 Amarillo, I pick it up Thursday. I wanted the Amarillo package because it is unique and I have always liked yellow on vehicles anyway(the right yellow on the right vehicle). I will let you know if I get bored with it, but not likely.

I don't have one but I wish I did. They are sweet looking. If they offered a gasoline engine, I'd have one.

If you are looking for an Amarillo I know that Koons Ford in Rockville MD has 2 on their lot.

Cavieot - I have not dealt with this dealer so I have no knowledge if they are any good or not. I just know I've seen 2 amarillo's on their lot when I drive by for the last couple of months.

the amarillo was a very hard sell. when it first became a option dealers ordered them thinking they could sell them. but almost all of them got stuck with them. several dealers here still have 1 or 2 on the lots. the diesel engine also got rid of potential customers.

Ewwwww, I hate gassers, LOL My Uncle has a 02 5.4L F-250 and that sucker is gas-a-holic. Pulling a 3500# boat to Florida it gets 7-9 MPG and my 6.0L will get 12 MPG pulling 12000+#. Just my opinion....

I don't want to get into a slugfest re: Diesel vs. Gasoline other than to say to diesel isn't for me.

I guess, just doesn;t make sense to me why buy such a large vehicle and get the horible mileage when you can get much much better with a diesel.....

if you check some comparison threads. you will notice you will only break even with the diesel option at 200k. so for most people it does not make sense if you plan on trading often.also not sure what fuel is there but gas is 2.11 and diesel is 3.64 here.

I don't know what your problem is. All I said is that I wished they made the Amarillo package available to those who wanted a gasoline engine. I did not knock the 6.0 or diesels in general.

Personally, I don't need a diesel for what I do with a truck. Maybe you do and that's fine. I don't know why you need to justify spending $4k more than me on a truck when it doesn't matter to me.

Since when is horsepower important to a diesel anyway? I thought torque was more important.
