4.88 reverse cut gear for the 8.8

Hello-

I have an 2005 FX4 and am looking for a 4.88 gear for the front. The truck has the 8.8 differential withe reverse cut ring and pinion. Can somebody tell me who makes such a thing? I have found the 4.56 but no luck finding a 4.88. Reason for the gear swap is 35 inch tires.

Thanks

for only 35'' tires why would you need 4.88's ? 4.56 still gives you a 4:10 effective gear ratio.

I have 35s with 4.56 gears, lot more pep. If you want 4.88for the front You can get them at randysringandpinion.com. Little high but highly recomended. I like there customer service.

I The ringand pinions from them as well as master install kits for the front and rear. The kits are supposed to have everythingyou need in them except the notched X-pin(which they also sell pretty cheap). This piece is very inportant, because with gears that big they have to be offset to fit in the carrier housing, and the notched X-pin allows the axle to be takenn out later on after installation if needed. Also when my mechanic installed the kit 2 ofthe bearings did not fit for some reason so i bought those locally for about $30. I called randyrindandpinion back and let them know about the bearings that did not fit so they should be aware of the issue. I went through Tom at EXT: 5566. Hes really easy to talk to. Hope this helps
