Bad fuel pump?

I have 110,00o miles on my truck and everything seems to be happening all at once. I am having a problem starting my truck now. It fires up and then dies right away. I'll gothrough this about 6 or 7 times and then it finally fires up and stays running. Also when I am driving I run across a jerking style motion that I thought could've been the rearend but have a feeling it is in line with whatever is wrong with the engine. Bad injectors? Bad fuel pump? Anyone else gone through this?

It could be the fuel pump among other things including a fuel filter.

A fuel pressure guage will give you a good indication of whether it's the pump or not.

if your fuel filter is more than 50,000 miles old, that is likely your problem. could have several psi restriction in an old filter, zero in a new filter.
