Installing BD deep auto trans mistery
The stock trans holds 18 quarts, right? Today I put in
a BD deep pan that adds two quarts to capacity. That's
20 quarts. When I pulled my pan off and inspection
cover I noticed the RV TC I put in a while back
doesn't have a drain plug. I've read the method where
you run it until the return line is putting out fresh
oil but that somehow rubs me wrong. I just changed it
a while back any way so I decided the heck with
draining the TC. I had my trans temp guage sending
unit mounted in the line to the coolers but this new
BD pan has a spot for it so I took my sending unit out
of the trans line where I cut it. Oil flowed out and
keep flowing for hours. Is there some way a siphon was
going on where the TC was getting drained? The reason
I ask is because I have put in 18 quarts so far and
nothing on the dipstick yet?!?! The TC holds six or so
quarts, doesn't it? No leaks, this really has me confused!!??
