Christmas e-mail
FTE friends
I spent part of today cleaning up my address book... I recently enjoyed a forced retirement and had some names to add from work at home... so now I have them all cataloged in my address book. I was looking over them and thinking about some of the folks...wondering what happened to some of them and promising myself to make a contact that is a long time late. And that is when I realized that these names are really written, not on the computer they're stored in, but in my heart. (Christmas time get's me this way )
Each name stands for someone who has crossed my path sometime, and in that meeting they've affected me in some way... maybe just a little and sometimes a lot. And while it sounds odd for me to say this, I feel that I'm the person I am because of, in some part, this list of names.
And while you may not be aware of any special link, to me, just knowing you has changed my life.
So this is my Christmas E-mail ... It's sent because all of you on the FTE forums are on the list of people I'm indebted to. And whether I have known you for years or weeks, In some way you have been a part of shaping things I do.
Between this Thanksgiving and Christmas time I've spent a lot of time thinking about my friends and how special each of you are. Some of you don't even realize what you've done for me and in what ways you've helped me this year especially. It's been a tough year in several ways. I've come to realize the best gift life can offer is having people like you to get you through the tough parts and share the fun parts.
I wish for all of you the very best Christmas ever... filled with family and friends and all those who mean so much to you. If you want to give me a present, let me choose it !! Take a minute and say a prayer (or just think good thoughts) for the children at St. Jude and their families... many of them will not be home for Christmas and sadly this will be the last Christmas together a few will share.
And after your Christmas I hope you have a very prosperous New Year filled with the people and things that are special and important to you. My prayers for you are that you are happy and healthy and enjoying your friends as much as I am.

John -
You have such a wonderful way with words. Your thoughtfulness always amazes me. You da man! In a year filled with so much to overcome and triumph in the face of potential tragedy, you take time to say these wonderful things. And everytime I hug my little grandson, I think of you and yours. Bless you John.
And you make a very good point. I too can say that my life is fuller because of this forum and its many wonderful members. (Some more wonderful than others, of course.)
Thanks. And a very Merry Christmas, one and all.

John,
I have only been a part of this wonderful forum for a short time but I feel right at home here, due in large to the kindness and thoughtfulness of yourself and the rest of the regulars. I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and Holidays!!
Thank you for your kind words
.......and to everyone else, any attempt by me to express myself would just pale in comparison to John's eloquent post, so, DITTO!!!
Thank you all,
Bobby

Good to hear that this year is definitely taking a turn for the better for you and yours, John. I know that having Cole there and seeing his (and all our children & grandchilren's) eyes light up Christmas morning just reminds us old men about just what is really important in our lives. Let's all keep Christ in our Christmas and start counting the days til the Supernats! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. Steve

John, your kind words are a big indicator of your character. I think all of us owe you a load of gratitude and thanks. If I recall, you have written several articles in length giving us step by step instructions on how to do brakes, suspensions, etc. You've given us information and helped us all through our projects. I for one am very thankful for the information you've offered to me, (I can't tell you how much I've used your reference material) and to FTE and all the other people who have given advice, whether it was a problem with our trucks or just a kick in the rear to keep going. ( I promise I won't tell you about my progress!) This year has gone by quickly. Thanks to everyone in FTE and John for the kind words and the great year we all had. A Merry Christmas to all. And remember, this coming year is the big 50 years for us 1956 truck owners. Should be a heck of a year!

Even if I could write, I couldn't say much of anything else because it's already been said. So here goes, Merry Christmas to all and to all a happy and safe and healthy year (Actually more than year, but you know what I mean ).
John, you have wrote some great tech articles, I used the mustang gas tank article for my truck. Thanks for writing them.

I too have developed some important freindships here as well as learned a lot. I've gotten some valuable help and support from members of this group and try to repay it in whatever way I can.
And to cover one of the numerous languages not listed above - (Canadian)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, eh!
