It's not hard to install... Took about 2 hours interpreting their instructions, though. It's pretty basic, though. If you can operate a socket wrench, you can do the swap.
Results? Negligable on fuel mileage. The trip computer on my '01 reflected about .3 MPG unless my foot is into the firewall or not!
Whatever you do, be careful on the oil content on the filter. The MAF Sensor can be taken out fairly easily if you over-oil.

I purchased the K&N filter by itself. Then I took the housing off, and took a dremmel to it. I cut 3/4 of the main section off, from the firewall to the bottom, but left enough of the connecting ring to make the retaining clasp work. I rounded out the edges of my cuts, cleaned the housing, and reinstalled. Like Dave S, I cannot notice much improvements in fuel economy, but it does howl when I jump on it.

I purchased the K&N filter, box, intake system and it was pretty easy to install. As far as results I didn't see any improvement for the expense.. The incab gauge only showed about .1 to .4 change and at times a negative change..
If I had it to do again I think I might just get the air filter only since it in less restrictive (so they say). But my personal opinion is still up in the air about the whole K&N thing and $200+ dollars later.
