4 wheel ABS vs. RABS on '97 Ranger 2WD

I was wondering how to tell if you have 4 wheel ABS versus just Rear wheel. ABS. In one of the threads I found it mentions that the RABS unit is on the driver side frame rail, where as the 4-wheel ABS in the engine compartment.

Can someone confirm this and fill me in on as to what the units look like and where exactly on the frame rail or engine compartment they are located?

I need to get new front rotors and would like to make sure I get the correct ones...ABS or non-ABS rotors. I assume there are gear teeth on the rotors for the ABS sensor if the fronts are ABS rotors? yes?

Thanks in advance!

I believe the rotors are all the same no matter. I have indentations for what appear to be gear teeth on my '94.
I believe the '97 2WD is only RABS.

the rotors certainly look similar, but Brembo lists 2 different part #s depending on 4 wheel vs. rabs.

i'll check mine for sensor teeth.

thanks!

According to my Haynes manual, 2wds are equipped with RABS, only "later" 4x4s got the 4 wheel ABS. I wouldn't swear by this (these manuals aren't the greatest) but I know my truck (same as yours, by the information given) has the RABS.

That's odd there are different parts. Get the RABS ones.

Follow the brake lines from the master cylinder, if they don't go through a HU in the engine compartment you have RABS.
