Volvo Seats in an F150
So I drive an '87 F150 4x4 with a standard transmission. My bench seat is torn up and not comfortable at all. I have a friend that has a pair of leather captain's chairs from a Volvo. The drivers seat is powered adn both are heated. They also have side impact airbags but I plan to remove them. The real question is does any one have advice on how to install these, wiring of them, and good ideas on the ideal center console. I have a full shop, both wood and steel at my disposal so let your ideas fly. I am looking to design the ultimate seating and storage situation.
Thanks, for what I am sure will be great ideas.

I am not worried about the hooking the wires up corectly since I have made the seats work in the garage with a power supply what I am worried about is tying them in to the trucks electrical system so that they are fused corectly and can not place a drain on the baterry when the truck has been turned off.
I like your idea about the rails I will look into that.

Use an multimeter to measure how many amps the seats consume at an idle. If they use current while idle, just hook them to a line powered by the ignition switch (like the radio connection). You'd probably want to use a relay and a direct circuit so you don't drain power from that line or blow a fuse.
