Newbie just looking for the best mods to perform on my truck. What is compatible between the newer/older trucks i.e telescoping blinker mirrors? Mods to stay away from?

2001 F350, Lariat,
Supercab, DRW, 4X4,
Auto Tranny, no mods..... YET.

 

On the 7.3: CCV mod, wastegate mod, 10K mod,kwik mod, sonnax/tricumulator mod for tranny, gauges for exhaust temp, boost, tranny temp, torque converter lock-up override switch,4 inch exhaust(turbo back), external bypass filters for oil, tranny and coolant just to name a few of the least expensive very effective mods.

It depends on what you want to do... Performance? .. Appearance? .. Both? How many greenbacks in your wallet?

I would suggest you do as I did and lurk on the forum and read as many posts as you can. If something interests you, use the search feature and research as much of the pros and cons until you feel comfortable with your decision. Read, read and do some more reading. I know that if your looking for performance, most knowledgeable folks here will suggest the first item to get are guages ( my guages are on FedEx somewhere .....).

The real problem is most people have personal preferences on what they want their PSD to look like, sound like and perform like. The list of "best" mods will be as varied and the great people on this site.

When you have a particular question on a mod that you are considering, you will be amazed on how many will jump in and help you out.

 

Not sure what you mean with the mods. What do they do? CCV I assume is Crank case ventilation? What is the 10k mod and the kwik mod?

 

CCV=crankcase ventilation mod:done to change venting to external. Do a search on "CCV Mod" for some pictures

10K(refers to a 10K Ohm resistor) wired into electrical system for injectors to increase injector pressure=more power. Search"10k mod"

Kwik mod: refers to an air filter setup using a 6637(p/n from NAPA) air filter
real cheap with great airflow/filtration. Search "Kwik mod"
