Clutch pack Clearance 4R100.

So it seams as though I have a second chance to make any adjustments to my rebuilt 4r100. I ended up putting the Intermediate sprag on upside down (or so it seems right now) Trans is on it's way out of the truck again to get that corrected.

Since i have a chance to tear into it again. I'm going to check the clearances on the clutch packs one more time.

which is better (with in spec, of course) a tighter pack, or a looser one? i know we're talking a difference of a few hundreths of an inch here..

Should i find the selective snap rings if i can't get within spec?

I'm assuming that too tight will burn clutches, and too loose will mess up shift timing?
