Ford V3000s

Hello everyone
I am new to the forum and I'm looking for some advice on engine over heating problems. I have just bought a 1944 Ford V3000s 3T truck (German army WWII). It has a V8 fitted which is post war as the seller wrecked the original engine by running it with the wrong oil. After runningte truck for about 10-15 mins I find that the operating temp rises above operating and results in the radiator just empting itself - with steam every where ad I cant pinpoint where the steam is coming from. Any suggestions on what I should check for?

Any advice welcome.

Many thanks
Cj

check your thermostat first but sounds like the radiator might be plugged a local radiator shop shoud be able to boil it out and check it for leaks ive had a few rare cases where the inpeller came loose from the shaft on the water pump.

Hi I am UK London based also new here and have recently aquired a V3000s a Cologne built 1943 model - has any one have any photos of the wooden rear bodywork? I could use some help with detail here. My lorry is complete but has no rear body, also has anyone any idea as to the timber used, Oak or ash?

Thanks

Andy
