COPIED FROM BLUE OVAL NEWS

It will be the 6.4L twin Navi. Specs are under wraps right now. Been told by S.D. launch engineer that Job 1 of 2007 S.D. has been pushed back to Jan. of 2007. Thats about 6 months later than normal. By the time we start building the new 07's, Ford may decide to call it an 08'. If they are built in Jan., look for them on dealer lots in late Feb. Why so late? Been told Ford is still working on reliability of this new twin turbo. They want to take every step cautiously as to make sure it is not a repeat of the previous 6.0L P.S

I don't get to be right very often, but I've been saying all along that a late launch was more likely than an early one. This is an instant replay of the '99 Suburban- the one GM built for almost two years before the new '00 came out (the '99 was an early launch too).

Thats really good news in a way. That should be reassuring to many that Ford is doing everything they can to make sure this engine is done right the first time. So it looks like will be dealing with 2007 models with both the 6.0 an 6.4.

Now that I doubt. Look for an extended '06 model year.

I think we will see just that. They did it in 94 with 3 (7.3 IDI, IDIT, DIT) and in 2002 with the last 7.3 and the new 6.0 in the same year.

Glad I pulled the trigger on my early 06.

Matt-"launch date" as being used in this context means release date.

They did the 6.0L launch in '03. You could still by the 7.3L up until 2004 I believe.

They started building 6.0L trucks in November, 2003. They not so coincidently stopped building 7.3L trucks the previous work day. I'm sure there were 7.3L trucks on dealer's lots for some time after November, 2003, but Ford wasn't building any new ones.

When they start building 6.4L trucks you can count on them not building anymore 6.0L trucks.

Your built date is wrong. I believe they starting building the 6.0 late 2002 as a 2003 model.
I have a 2004 with a built date of 9/19/03, which is a good truck. Have had only a few problem to date with 32000 miles.

No, the 6.0 was a response to new diesel emissions standards that carried al the way up to Class 8 trucks. D-Day was 10/22/02.
