Headlamp issue
hey guys. I just replaced my nasty yellow headlamps on my Ranger with new clear ones. each headlamp has three adjusters on it. on my passenger side headlamp i spent over ten minutes trying to get the clip on one of the adjusters and ended up breaking it. i tried pushing on the headlamp to see if it would move without the clip and it wiggles only slightly, about the same amount as the one with thee clips. however, i just perfectly aligned thse things and i'm wondering if the bumpy country road will jostle the alignment of the headlight. neither autozone nor advance auto has these in stock, so my question is, is it worth special ordering new clips? even if i get them, i'm not sure i'm going to get the clip on. is this necessary, or is there something else i can use that will go on easier? i think it will be fine but i just want to check before i mess up the alignment during a snowstorm or something. thanks

I found a link for the replacement clips for you. It would put you at around $4. I really couldn't tell if that was for a pair or if that was for a single. Wish I could help more. I think I'm going up to the dealership tomorrow to get some bc I have broke 3 out of my 4. They still manage to be functional, but I want it to work to where I don't have any doubt in my mind as far as the safety of my $400 headlights is concerned.

Link didn't work, but $4 each sounds right. Ridiculous, but right. They are stupid little clips, but it's an easy way to make money.
I managed not to break any of mine removing my headlights, but dropped one installing the new ones, and yep, that was the end of that. Looked all over, never found it, picked one up for around $4 at the dealership.

Speaking of which, I think I'm going to align mine tonight. I'm hard up for an alignment. I put new headlights in today and I didn't have time to tweak it, as I was 5 minutes late for work due to putting them in.
BTW, as far as getting the new clips on, push them on as far as you can by hand. After you do that, put an extension on the top of the clip and smack it with a hammer. No extension? use a screwdriver. Can't get the screwdriver? Repeatedly jab it with some pliers like an icepick. I opted for the last one bc I didn't want to go get the extension or hammer, lol.
