1972 Ranger XLT Woodgrain?

I know of one on ebay, the seller is in Wa. He puts ridiculous prices on his stuff and people buy it. Most of his stuff is driver quality at best.
I guess I'm doing it all wrong because I completely restore them and sell for about the same price. I guess I need to re-think my asking price.
I do have a complete tail gate with panel sitting in my garage. I'm almost done with the panel to reassemble it with.

Reason being, they don't know about this forum or other forums where they can get educated. After they buy from him they find these forums then say how they got burnt. I have people contacting me from ebay after they bought his crap asking me if I can fix it.

I also have a 72 ranger xlt with the woodgrain. I have tried two different things. I tried mothers brand aluminum polish believe it or not with great success. I looked great but it didn't last more than 3-4 months before the oxidation was back. I also tried something called "back to black" and it also removed the oxidation for a few months. Someone suggested to me last year that you can use woodgrain contact paper/shelf liner to replace it. I am a little hesitant to tear the old stuff off as it is in good shape and still has good color when polished. If you come up with anything let us know.

These stuff is self leveling and can refresh coats right over the old coatings
Good for just about everything, I used it on my polished intake manifold.
lasted about a yr.

A friend of mine used Everbrite on his aluminum moldings and grill and it looks great, almost brand new looking. Im tempted to use it on my moldings and grill because polishing it every year simply SUCKS. The jury is still out on me using it though......just waiting to see how it holds up. Been on his moldings for about 6 months and I swear it looks new.

Woodgrain Tailgate
I have a near mint tailgate trim panel for a 70-72 Ranger xlt. It was removed from my grandfather's new truck and has been in storage since. Like new. Has some small scratches on the aluminum. Woodgrain is 98% overall 98% asking price is $500 plus actual shipping cost. Will email pics if seriously interested.

I have a tailgate from a 72 XLT if you're interested. It does need restoring, but as you can't buy them anymore - you may like it.
