Glad you've asked that Scott. I've had no luck yet either. I know acouple of mechanics that I'm going to call Monday and get them to ask their Matco & Snap-on guys.

What about the oil cooler? Been reading some in the IDI forum and apperaently on those engines a bad oil cooler can allow oil into the coolant. On the PSD the block heater does pass right through the oil cooler head.....any way for coolant to get into the oil there?

yes that is the other kind of leak. i got the diagnosis for that also if you want it. but i am pretty sure he said it was diesel.

i also forgot to mention. i hear a lot about a place that sells tools called "OTC" over at the tds. it sounds like a specialty tool place. they may have it. i dont know who or where they are but i am sure they have a web site.

thats the common place for oil to get into the water is the oil cooler since its a heat exchanger, either the internals pinhole or the orings fail. i had it happen on my 94.5 and it was just the orings. it was like $50 for the kit to rebuild it.

the oil was showing up in the degauze bottle making a grey goo on the top of the water.

is he sure its diesel?? old oil sure does have that sweet diesel smell to it.

But I'm getting diesel, not oil, in the coolant.
I drained and flushed the cooling system. Refilled it with only water. Drove about ten miles until the engine was warm. Got diesel in the coolant.

Angry Aaarrrgggghhhh

It's like pulling teeth! I'm tired of this crap! Does anyone know where I can buy a set of tools, Rotunda PN: 014-00934? I've spent way to much time on something that should have been as easy as a phone call! I think I'm gonna get a horse and buggy.

What repair manual are you using? Where did you get it? What year range is covered?

Thanks,

Gene
