You have to change the complete electrical harness in the 92 for a powerstroke truck harness. Not many have done the mod too labor intensive.....

truth be told it probly be easier to a 5.9 cummins out of a 89-98 dodge than putting a powerstrock in because theres companies that make everything u need to do it adapters and motor mounts and such

i would agree www.autoworld.com or www.fordcummins.com will do a cummins conversion and u will get a far better motor then the powerstroke and it will be alot easier to do the a psd

I just listened to a guy go through the ceiling today when he got the price to go through the bottom end of his 5.9 Cummins.
Starting price was 8000 dollars.

he needs a rebuild of the bottom end? seems like that bottom end has been fine they hold 800 some rwhp easy stock what happened that he needs 8k to fix it

the cummins would be cheaper i think whatever happend hear is a fluke kinda thing the 5.9 bottom end is far better and will last longer then a psd

Thrust bearings failed, chewed up the main bearings, rod bearings and crank.
Parts and labor estimate was 8000 dollars using the middle between low and high estimates.

The engine was in stock form in a one ton delivery truck.

oh yeah ive heard of that one it happens so very little tho that its not a main concern and cummins has an improved bearing to replace it w/ u can even do it in truck so its not a big deal when u prevent it the bearing is pretty cheap

I love my truck I just hate the fact that RV's with Cummins power pass me like I was standing still on the grade.
