weiand finned heads(for 1946 block) on 8ba flathead1948-1952

hey i just picked up some finned weiand heads for my 52 239 f1 i am getting ready to dress up i have offy 3 duce intake headers ect. i know that you can use these 1947 centre water spigot heads with my later model block (8ba)by blocking off a couple of the cooling passages in my block does any one know the correct procedure which ports? how to block, Weld ? jb Weld? which gasket do i use, one for the 1947 block or the 1952 8ba any info will be appreciated thanks Ralph

The port to plug is about in the middle front of the block on each side, runs directly down to each water pump cavity. If there's enough meat to the hole, drill, tap (NPT), and use an allen (socket head) pipe plug to block it, with sealer applied to the threads. Make sure it is flush or slightly below deck.

I'm 99% sure you match the heads as far as gaskets go.

Same basic answer, middle hole at the front, drill tap and fit pipe plug.

Use the gaskets that match the head.
