Might be fun next spring but digging through the snow at -20 doesn't seem like a good time to me.

Im going to dress warm... leave my truck running...take a thermos of hot coffee...if I wait till spring... I may not heve this "adventure" or others may be thinking the same thing, and I have a 150' cable on my tow truck ,and a 100' double hooker extension for it, logging tire chains, and a fifty foot tie off chain... and besides , playing in the snow has alway been a favorite pastime...even at 52. any parts you're looking for that you'ld want to drive to homer for? if they're available? thanks, bob

Hey if you find a '79 ford p/u in that yard let us know. My understanding is this one came with Dana 60 front axle and it maybe interchangable with '76 Chev K20 front axle, that bound up and needs work. Still it is going to take allot of work to clean out 5 acres of parts.

the axles are not interchangable the diffs are on the wrong sides, fords is on the left chevys is right also they cant be flipped because of the spring persches and rotation of the axle.

arctic off road

You are correct. My memory is not that good of what ford was building then. May have to look old K30 to find something suitable.

Just took a spill on that wet ice outside. Nothing broke, but am going to be reminded for couple of days of my miss adventure. Send SNOW!

well,,,,, I wenrt out to the 'junk yard' finally after a few false starts. I have never seen a bigger mess . It is five acres, with a fence arround it , and instead of lining the cars up so you ,'or anyboby ' can get in and see any thing and pull parts or vehicles , he put them in ,side touching side and front touching back . 5 acres of inaccesable B-S-, had to be three hundred vehicles ,mostly foriegn cars , without moving all of them , you cant get to any of them. the good news is that , after climbing across on roofs and hoods to see if there was any thing worth doing that much work for , every thing was pretty much stripped or junk'd out or rusted out. It went from her stepson wanting 200 dollars for any vehicle I wanted , to, would I use my towtruck and take them to the land fill for any parts I wanted . With the price of gas and my time , I can buy any parts new and save money. I was so 'stressed' and distraught' and a hole bunch of other words that I cant spell , I had to force feed myself several beers, while smoking a real nasty smelling cigar, 'just to calm down' you understand, and to make sure I didnt have any post trauma. Thats my excuse and Im sticking to it ,respectfully , bob
