rear wheel brg's in 9.75

i was wondering if the 9.75 rear axle uses a real brg w/inner race as compared to the 8.8 , w/tapered brg riding directly on the axle. I dont think i've seen any posts on rear axle outer brg problems w/9.75. (or pinion brgs) This must be a much better axle. Also is it true that ALL supercrews use this 9.75 axle, even if it has a 4.6? thanks...........paul

well let me first say that i love my ford truck.... however, they do use the bearings without the inner race and they have rollers and they eat the axles.... you can either replace the axle or get a bearing saver when that happens.... they even use the roller type bearings in the 10.25 rear end....

well i found my collision guide and it shows the brg for the 9.75 for $58.00 and the one for the 8.8 for around $22.00. (Ford costs and this book only goes to 2001). soooo back to my question...sounds like the 975 brgs ride on the axle just like the 8.8? (just a larger brg) The reason for this is am thinking about trading trucks and want to get the 975 rear, i never hardly hear of any problems with this one. thanks....paul
