Door pannels

How difficult is it to do custom door pannels?

Also, how much of a hastle is it to re fit them to the doors with the extra materials?

Thanks,

I was thinking about using that fiberboard with the holes in it, cover with a thin layer of foam, then some vinyl. I dont think I want to glue vinyl to my original door panels. I think there is an article on here about using some wood to make door panels.

I used the foam backed headliner fabric that's used on new cars to do my headliner so I gave the door panels a shot. After the second try I thought it looked passable, The fabric doesn't look overdone, it follows the conture of the steel panels and covers up a world of sin. The ones I used had been painted and drilled, just shy of speaker holes. I can post some helpful tips if there is an interest. Contact cement can be friend or foe.
The upholstery supplier I used had light grey, dark gray, and black.
