Make Sure To Remember...
I probably shouldn't have to say this, but make sure to remember those soldiers overseas fighting for our freedom. I know they wish they could be at home with their families, having Thanksgiving dinner. Stay safe boys, and our prayers are with you. You are not forgotten.
Anyway, I hope and pray that all of you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!

They are some phenomenal people, aren't they?
I made it to twenty in the nav by the skin of my teeth. The PFT was beyond my abilities at the end. And yet there are Marines with thirty plus years in, who run marathons just for kicks!
ARMY and AIR FORCE are no joke either. "YOU WILL run five miles within the minimum time for your age group, move...

My wife pen pals some of our troops, we send pacages to them, if you can, we could use help, you can contribute items or funds to buy stuff for them. The guys she write's like little cheap $1 digital games from the dollar tree, magazines, sent beanie babies for them to hand out, I'm thinking about sending some jerky (doesn't spoil). One group she writes is a Marine sniper unit, they tend to fight over the little digital games.
A soldier coming home sent her 3 shirts and hats for all of us, a teddy bear for her that plays the Army fight song and a letter explaining about how much her pacages ment to him.

http://www.asoldiersblog.com This is a chat site, not helpful to send packages.
Many who send packages to the soldiers by other means, it gets packed up and put in warehouses, not always making it to those who want it. When you have a pen pal, you can ask him what he and his buddy's want, sending it directly to them, and they enjoy the letters, family doesn't always send them.

I was just reading an account of the 1st-101st's campaign during Desert Storm, and the "ANYSOLDIER" involvement.
I think you want to find a pen pal before sending electronic games, because what happened during DS was that anything electronic that came in the mail - the package was hauled off to a pit and the addressee had to claim it or it would be blown up with C4 as a potential letter bomb!
But yeah - that sounds like a good idea.
During Desert Shield, and Desert Storm Mrs. Lettie Gingrich of Redondo Beach CA wrote over a thousand letters to the troops, and was sort of adopted by the troops of the first airborne "Screaming Eagles"
